Welcome to our website though we wish you did not need to be looking for us, however here we are and we are here to do whatever we can to help you.
All the way through the covid pandemic we have obviously been closed for our monthly meetings but we still did what we could via phone calls and emails.
But we are now back and from April 2022 our monthly support group meetings are back on schedule. This is a fluid situation where we will see how we go as regards meeting up while keeping an eye on the covid infection rates.
We are contemplating tweaking when we meet as regards day or times but we will update this site with any new details.
We are always looking for guest speakers to talk to the group, so if you work within a Prostate Cancer enviroment or feel that you want to share your experiences with the group then please get in touch with us so that we can organise this for you !!
Welcome to the North Notts - Prostate Cancer Support Group

This group was originally formed in 2011 by Gerry Marshall with the help and support of Steve Shaw and Amanda Brikmanis and has now been expanded and reformed, our thanks to Gerry for all his hard work and getting us started.
We are a group of caring individuals based in Sutton in Ashfield and cover north of Nottingham, including all the Ashfield and Mansfield districts, Warsop, Edwinstowe, Ollerton and all surrounding towns and villages. But everyone is welcome, where ever you are from.
We are a very forward thinking group and truly believe that this group should include the whole family not just the men affected by prostate cancer. The men may be diagnosed but the whole family suffer so wives, partners, children, friends, work colleagues, anyone affected by prostate cancer can come along.
The aim of our group ... To provide support to patients, families and friends and raise awareness in the community towards prostate cancer.
So what does this actually mean? We officially meet up once a month where we have a guest speaker talking about something relevant to prostate cancer and/or it's related issues and there is question time afterwards followed by some social time.
If you need to talk we can make time to talk to you privately or you can share your problems with the group openly to see if the members can help from their own experiences.
Then we also form links where we can with other organisations to make people more aware of this awful cancer so that more men come forward for testing to be found to be ok hopefully or if not, to be diagnosed early so that the treatment options can kick in earlier for them.
We have now sorted out our dates for the group to meet and how often we are to be meeting, we have now posted them on our "Meeting Dates" page but because we are enthusiastic it means that we can be flexible so that if necessary we can alter dates to suit, if this happens then of course we will ammend the listing in here. If you need our help and support in between meetings or feel the need to talk to us privately then please feel free to contact us and of course we will help if we can.
